poem.

I cling to everything you have ever said
As I lay on my lonely bed
Trying to find a chink
Some little forgotten link
A secret hint telling all
An excuse to give you a call
Because my heart is yearning
And this feeling it is burning
It’s strong, and pushing at me
Trying to get you to see
That I miss you
And no matter what I do
I can’t get you off my mind
So if you would be so kind
Won’t you come online
So I can talk and be fine
I need you in my life
Your absence is cutting like a knife
My heart is slowly breaking
And you are the one who is taking
All the little pieces
So I’m going to eat some Reeses
And get all fat and ugly
Cause you won’t be my snuggly
And as tears trail down my fat cheeks
I’ll realize we haven’t talked in weeks
They’ll come down so much faster
And I’ll try to call you a bastard
Then I will realize
Between our hearts there are some ties
I’ll go on a diet
Till the critics are all quite
And I’ll go out and see you
When on the grass there’s dew
And when I see you I’ll wrap
My arms around you like a big ole sap
And we will live happily ever after
Underneath our rafter
And there won’t be any end
Because an end our hearts would rend

poem, writers block, bridesmaid, other.

Have you ever stared at fire?
Do you ever wonder how it burns?
Just like watching a tire
And wondering how it turns
Mechanical things are dissectible
You can’t tear fire apart
It remains incomprehensible
Like fire igniting a fart

So here we sit, and we stare
Watching the flames lick the wood
Like watching something rare
We’d understand, if we could
Scientists try to explain it
With all their foreign formulas
As simple as training a donkey to sit
On a few very specific straws

I was going to write about a variety of things, but it appears that all I can write is that poem and nothing more… I have writers block. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Perhaps I’ll think up something inspiring, or interesting, or even just entertaining. Since I’m not about to write anything of my own, I would like to share two things I found.

First; an acronym on Perseverance

Persist no matter what.
Endure discomfort.
Request help.
Steadfastly hold on to your beliefs and values.
Envision triumph.
Very consistently keep at it.
Embrace adversity as your teacher.
Refuse to give up.
Enjoy and celebrate every tiny bit of progress!

Second, something I found on status shuffle on Facebook.

Day is over, night has come. Its gone away now, whats done is done. Embrace your dreams all through the night, fall asleep knowing its alright.

Oh yes! I just thought of something that is VERY exciting that I must share… My third cousin, Tracey-Lynn VV asked me to be her bridesmaid! I am VERY excited and can barely wait for the big day to get here!

Goodnight!

Introducing 'Another's Perspective'

Hi,

So. I have decided to copy a friend of mine who also has a blog. [yes, I have her permission!] so what am I copying her by doing? Well, she has started to post what she calls ‘guest posts’ and thinks that she will post one every fortnight or so. I decided that I needed a name all my own for it, and this is what I came up with: another’s perspective. I will be posting ‘Another’s Perspective’ on the first of each month, if at all possible. At the very least, the first week of each month. If you would like to write one, or know someone that is a good writer that you think might like to write one, please leave a comment below, and I will try my best to get back to you as soon as possible. Also, I am ok with keeping the posts anonymous, or, if you prefer, with your name at the end. Completely up to you, but I will do my best to keep your privacy private. One last thing, it doesn’t necessarily have to be anything in particular, it could be a poem, some random thoughts you put down on paper, a short story… the sky is the limit, use your imagination! And if I don’t like something about it I will let you know, so don’t worry about that. I love proof reading.

I know that we are already into the second week of November, but I really wanted to post the first one right away, because it is a poem called, simply, October Day, and posting a poem by that name in December wouldn’t quite seem right, don’t you think? The person who wrote it is a VERY good friend of mine, and likes to protest that she isn’t a good writer, but I think that she is VERY talented. I would appreciate it if you guys supported my opinion, just to prove to her that she IS good. :D. here it is;

Turn my head to the side
the beauty flows from the earth
golden leaves floating down
smiling for all it's worth

grass is rustling in the breeze
a dog running far away
sunlight streaming from the sky
just a bright October day

strolling through the trees
through that dark aclove
crunching the leaves all red
and black, orange and mauve

night will fall when I return
slinking back through
stars will paint the sky
nature, me and thoughts of you

Well, what do you think? Good, no? :D I knew that you would agree ;) hehee.

This week or next week I will hopefully be posting some pictures that I have taken up here. Today it was fascinating. When I looked out of the patio door out over the lake it was as if the earth dropped off right after the first few trees. It looked so neat! It was actually very foggy, but if you looked out all you could see was the trees closest to you , and then just empty whiteness. I tried to capture it, but it was very hard, the fog made it look very blurry when up on the screen. Anyways, I’ll post them later on.

I would like to include a link today, the link to my friend-that-I-copied-with-the-whole-guest-post-thing’s blog.http://eighteenexcuses.blogspot.com/  Please read and enjoy!!

Soccer, Sleep, Siding, Snow, Silence.

On Saturday our youth group hosted Ontario Youth Day, which was a great success. There were two topics in the morning, teaching us the pros and cons of internet and electronic communication. It was explained to us that some people spend so much time on the internet that they have, as it were, a virtual world that they escape to from their regular everyday life. So we were basically warned not to go on the internet so much that we live for that time when we are on. After the topics we had lunch at our church and then went to someone’s house for activities in the afternoon. The activities basically consisted of random sports and you could play any of them whenever you wanted through out the afternoon. I played soccer. All afternoon basically. It was so much fun!! Although the next morning I was so sore I could barely walk… that was the only sad part about it. It also shows how out of shape I am… bad, eh? Eventually we all went inside to play a game and then to have supper. After supper a couple people started playing volleyball, but it wasn’t much of a success. A few friends and I jumped on the trampoline for a while. With lots of giggles and random topics. The making of a good time. ;) after a while mom came and picked me up and brought the friend that I had brought with me home. Then we went home too, but it took us a while. I don’t remember much of it, because I was sleeping. I always sleep when I am in a vehicle for more then 10 minutes.

Speaking of sleep, I have been lacking it lately… my fault, but still. Why didn’t someone force a sleeping pill into me?! It would have been a lot easier. And I would have been able to concentrate on things much better. But no, I am a night owl. And the main rule with night owls is, DO NOT SLEEP. Well at least until after around 2 or 3 in the morning. That is a good time to begin sleeping. Never mind the fact that sleep BEFORE midnight is the most beneficial. I mean, what do you expect?! Am I supposed to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning and THEN satisfy my night owl preferences? I don’t think that it would be the same. Oh well. I caught up on my sleep Monday. How, you may ask. Well, it is very simple. It is called a six hour drive up north. Now, generally, I will stay up until it is time to leave, because we usually leave around 3 or 4 in the morning. I tried. I really did. But somehow, around 12 or 1 in the morning, I fell asleep. I am so ashamed of myself. The one time that I really want to stay up I zonk. Immediately. My mom woke me up around quarter to four to get up and dressed etc. I stumbled around, cold and sleepy. Eventually I found my way into the truck and settled in with my favourite blanket and a couple of pillows. I fell asleep immediately and slept for about 4 hours when I was awaken to eat some breaky at some restaurant. I ate half of my breaky and then went back to my wonderful sleep. I woke up for about ½ a minute when we stopped for gas and then slept until we were in the laneway. After that I ate some sort of delicacy that had sugar in it and in that way I managed to awaken myself enough to go through the rest of the day. However, by 5:30 I was showered and in my pjs. I did eat supper and stayed up till about 10, but after supper I kind of just went through the motions. I was dead tired. And this coming from a night owl?!  I do believe that I need to see a doctor! ;) :P I am tired right now even, and it is only 10:03pm. Perhaps a few nights of going to bed early will cure this. I hope so!

Are you wondering why I get to go up north in the middle of the year? Well. In a nutshell, it is this. I really enjoy snowmobiling, snowboarding, skating, and various other snow-needed sports. And, since where I live doesn’t have any snow yet, the most logical thing to do would be to go up north! So, here I am, for the next three weeks of my life. Are you jealous yet? ;) because if you aren’t, you should be. Haha. Is it really time for the truth now? Aw shucks! Well. I suppose. The real reason I am up here is for siding. Siding?! What does siding have to do with the price of rice in China on a Tuesday morning around 5 after 9? Nothing. At least that I know of! But it does have something to do with the-unknown-reason-that-I-am-up-here. My parents are putting new siding on the lodge, and I get to tag along. Poor, poor, unlucky, underprivileged me! I need some serious pity here, guys! I mean, I just got dragged up to this beautiful, wonderful, amazing place. And it was COMPLETELY against my will! Ok, ok. So I may have been exaggerating a TAD. But just a little. I mean, I was torn. I didn’t know if I wanted to go or not. So I was pulled to being up here a bit more. Not that much! FINE! I wanted to be here so bad I have been begging my parents for weeks. Now I’m exaggerating the OTHER way. Ugh. Is there no middle choice?! Ah, yes. There it is! I was very excited about being up here. Hm. Now that it is typed out it seems so simple! The only sad part is that, even though there is snow up here…

SNOW! Did I mention snow?! I love snow. Snow is so beautiful! It is one of the best things that can fall out of the sky. Literally. I mean, snow is the thing that turns the world white again. It covers up all that is ugly and sad in life. It makes everything seem so beautiful and pure again. And when it stays the temperature must be below freezing. When something is frozen, it is solid. It is not insecure. No flimsiness, it remains the same. Unchanging. But I was speaking of snow. Snow is also good for the enjoyment of several outdoor activities. Do you like snowboarding? Perhaps you prefer skiing. Was that downhill or cross country? You prefer cross country? What a coincidink! [I’m sorry if that word confused you. It is merely my way of saying coincidence. You say it co-ink-I-dink. Ingenious, no?] wow! I do seem to get distracted easily! But before I go on about distractions, let me finish this part about snow. Snow is so beautiful! I especially love taking pictures of it. Every single little flake. And imagine. Of all the snow flakes that have EVER fallen, there isn’t a single one that is the same!!! Is that not AMAZING?! I think it is. They are unique in a super special way. Majestic. They speak of something so much bigger, something that is incomprehensible. Something that we know is there but we can’t place it. Indescribable. That makes me think of love. What is love? I have been asking myself this a lot lately. What is love? You could do the easy thing and look it up in the dictionary. I have. But to experience true love. Is that not rare? And when experienced, a beautiful thing? Something so real, yet so… untouchable! It is there but it cannot be experienced with the five senses. It is an abstract noun. Just like dreaming. But that is a whole other topic. Now some  people think that love is a decision. I am still trying to rap my head around that idea. I believe that love just happens. It takes us by surprise, suddenly. Or, sometimes, it creeps up on us. One day we may suddenly realize that we have been in love with a person for a very long time and just not realized it. However, I just said ‘in love’. is that the same as love? Or is it different? Is being ‘in love’ like having a crush? Is it an infatuation? Or is being in love the same as loving someone? It think that the fact that the term is in love means that we are in something. Therefore there must be a way to get out, which means that we can fall OUT of love. I don’t like the sound of that. If I were to write the sentence, ‘One day we may suddenly realize that we have loved a person for a very long time…’ versus ‘One day we may suddenly realize that we have been in love with a person for a very long time’, does that change the meaning? It feels like it does. When I write ‘in love’ it sounds so temporary. Yet saying I have loved him/her for a very long time, that sounds like forever. Do you see what I am getting at? If love really were a decision, would it not wear off eventually? Or does one decide to love another and even if that one does not love the other at that time, are they expected to learn to love each other in all eventuality? I’m sure one day I will understand, but right now it just doesn’t make sense. Well! That was completely off topic! I seem to be getting good at that! Maybe I should just remain silent.

Silence. Do we ever hear complete silence anymore? Even as we lay in our beds at night and the house is asleep, there is still noise. The hum of this or that. A fridge perhaps. Or maybe, in the winter, the furnace. Always something running, even if it is only a clock. Have you ever noticed when something stops running, how quiet it seems? Yet you never noticed that it was running in the first place, did you? Have you ever heard COMPLETE silence? Even out of doors silence is hard to find. You could be in the middle of the woods in the middle of Nowhere, and there would still be that distant hum of traffic. Or maybe a chainsaw, hard at work making a tree fall. I find that the quietist I have ever heard has been in the woods here in Temagami. But it has to be winter. In the summer there are so many birds chirping it is as if there is a concert no human knows about. In the winter the most noise you may hear, if you lay on the snow covered ground, is perhaps a animal picking it’s way through the cold whiteness. And, sometimes, it is SO quiet that you can hear a snowflake falling. That is true silence. I love that silence. At times I will just lay there and close my eyes and day dream. Or even just think about things that need thinking of. It is so peaceful! At other times I love noise. I will put my earphones in and block everything else out so much that it is as if the music is inside of me. But, once again, I am going off topic. I believe I shall bid everyone good night and retire.

Goodnight!!

a email I wrote...

This may sound strange but I kinda liked the wording I used in an email the other day. I felt like I actually put my thoughts into words. So I thought that I would share it with you guys. It's kinda a sad email, so don't expect the usual cheery hyperness. I am also posting a picture that I would like opinions on.

the email
a single tear  is worth a thousand feelings. But a single smile  is worth a thousand memories. on a lighter note, a single minute  of sleep  is worth a thousand seconds of stress. A single love  may last a lifetime, but a single heartbreak  can last a lifetime and a half. Love is hard to understand, and it creeps up on us when we are looking the other way or sleeping and suddenly our life is turned upside down as it goes on a steep back crawl roller coaster routine, and we close our eyes and look for something to rely on. Then we realize all we can do is hang on for the ride, and hope for the best. The heart plays tricks on us, and at time causes the single tear which at times turns to millions of tears over a single feeling. A single word, only two letters long, yet so powerful. No. This word leads to a question which consists of another word. A three letter word. Why? We never seem to know the answer, yet I read somewhere that everything will turn out right, and if it's not right yet, then it's not over yet. A single hug can transport so many feelings. love, friendship, comfort, joy, ecstasy. and so many others. I am sending a single hug your way. It is big. and long. and in it are so many feelings. understanding. comfort. a wish for strength. so many others that can't be put into words. So savour this hug, and I hope it brings you all you need right now. and know that I am thinking about you.

the picture.

well, that's all for now! Hopefully my next post will be more cheerful.

My weekend :-)

Fence Making
Saturday, October 16, 2010
I woke up around 7 am [which for me is early] and went outside to feed my kitty. I still haven’t figured out a name for her… Oh well. After that I had breaky with mom and dad and got dressed etcetera. We finally hit the road and were on our way, and after several discussions upon directions, we arrived at our destination. I had completely forgotten that there was to be fence building that day, so when I saw a lot o people hanging around with hammers and nails and an auger I was a little surprised… I must say pleasantly though.  after saying hullo to everyone I asked Tina what I could do… apparently we were the ones to stand around and point fingers… yay! lol… I finally took Midnight for a jog around the block, thinking I would use up some time. Turns out it didn’t take me very long at all. After a lot of standing around and talking to people who should have been working I went inside [it was about 11:30] and found some pizza to put in the oven. Finally something productive to do! Haha. As soon as the first one was ready I started serving them… now that was a big hit! I guess most people forgot breaky… or they all had hollow legs… or… maybe, just maybe they had been working and were hungry :D. Whatever the case, they gobbled it down as fast as I could bake it and cut it. Forget plates, just set them on a tray and they will disappear in about five seconds! It was fun though. I also baked cookies and fried some ground beef up for the lasagna which would be our supper. While baking cookies I also babysat Andrew, Mike’s son. Cutest little guy EVER… and extremely well behaved. Seriously. The biggest nuisance that he was the whole afternoon was when he was playing on his little laptop, and he needed help spelling a word. Absolutely great kid. When the cookies were finished being made he asked for one… and then another…. and then another! His excuse for the third one was that he had two hands, therefore he needed two cookies. I made do by breaking the cookie in half… I guess that was good enough for the time being. He finally decided to go outside again, so I set to work entertaining him there. Which wasn’t hard, especially when the auger was at work.  I think that I was a bigger nuisance then he was, actually… I was taking pictures almost constantly. I think I took about a hundred in all… :D I think that one of the main highlights of the day was when I got to operate the auger… it’s a two man auger but it had three handles, so Mike had one, Keith had one, and I got the one with the throttle… :D… lotsa fun! When we had to lift it out when we hit a rock or something I think that my share was pure will/effort, and not muscle… :P. or maybe they just lifted extra so that it seemed like I was lifting… I don’t know. But it was still fun. I can definitely feel it now though… lol. I would do it again… it was a lot of fun. And sometimes you get hurt when you’re having fun, but in the end it’s all worth it. A while after that I went inside again and helped Tina make supper, which consisted of lasagna, Caesar salad, vegis and dip, garlic bread, and then for dessert there was apple pie and strawberry cheesecake. Mmmm. So good. I kind of messed up the lasagna though, because when it was done baking the guys weren’t quite finished cleaning up outside, so Tina got me to put the oven on ‘keep warm’. So I pressed the button and continued with what I was doing. When the time came to take the lasagna out of the oven for supper I found out that I was supposed to press end to shut the actual oven off and THEN press keep warm. So the whole time that it was supposed to be keeping warm it had actually still been cooking. I was so mad at myself! I thought for sure that I had ruined supper. Thankfully, once we tasted it, it was actually still very tasty. PHEW!!! But wait! I have an excuse! I had never used that button on that stove before! How was I supposed to know?! :P lol. Oh well. It turned out fine, and I’m sure that even if it hadn’t, the guys were probably so famished and tired that they wouldn’t have noticed :P. After supper everyone kinda just hung out and talked… a nice lazy evening after a long day! I made a few beds for those staying overnight and then migrated downstairs to watch Andrew play wii. Massages were also in order, and I think that they were appreciated.  My aunt Jacquie brought me home at about 11. I was tuckered out and full of great memories. I fell asleep and relived the day to wake up to sun streaming through my window. I stuck my head under my pillow for another five minutes before dragging myself out of bed to meet the new day. I really do wish that I could have stayed, but hey, life isn’t always what you want it to be. You never know. Maybe if I had stayed something bad would have happened, making me wish I hadn’t… highly doubtful, but it’s possible! I mean, maybe I would finally have broken a bone… or maybe I would have burnt some pizza… or maybe… idk. Whatever. Anyway! That was my Saturday! And it was great… how was everyone else’s?!

pictures, kitty cats, and more pictures!

Blog Post!

Some one who is under the name of Anonymous asked me to post some pictures of my “pretty dress and hair”.  Sadly I only have 2 or 3, but I will post them below \/

The other day I saw an adorable kitty in my backyard. We don’t have any pets though, so I was surprised because we also live way out in the country. I do love animals though so I opened the back door to try to coax it to me, but it ran off at the sound of the door. However, this morning as I was lying in bed I saw its’ shadow on my wall, it was walking past my window. So I ran outside and eventually saw it, curled up beside one of my windows. I crouched down and held out my hand to it and it meowed and then started walking towards me. It let me pet it and then rubbed against my legs. I got it to follow me to the deck and then I fed it. It seemed very famished. Which isn’t surprising, seeing as I could feel every single bone and rib when I pet it! I left it to fill it’s belly and went back inside for a box with a towel inside for it to curl up in. By tonight it even crawled into my lap and sniffed my nose. I must say, I fell in love at first sight. Right now it is probably snoring the night away in it’s box. My mother is ok with the fact that I am feeding it and stuff but she is making me post pictures in case it is lost. I’m kind of hoping no one claims it so that I can keep it :D But they will be posted below \/

What else is new? Hm. My mind has drawn a blank, so I will say nothings new… for now! Although I am single again… not overly important, but it’s new! :P

Well, have a good night!

A busy week!

Blog…

The past week has been one of the best EVER. J Mostly the best parts were Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Tuesday & Wednesday
I went to FOCUS day. Before I went I was super nervous. All in all I shouldn’t have worried in the least… lol… I got up really early, had breaky and then Mom drove me to my best friend’s house. From there we went to Air, which is where FOCUS day was held. My best friend, Emily and her sister Leanne went as well as their mom, who helped out in the kitchen. In the morning we had a topic thingy and then we were supposed to have a workshop but half of them were supposed to be outside [sports etc.] so almost everyone just sat around and played games, however I was covered because my first workshop was photography so I got to stay inside. It was great and I learned a lot about photography. J After that we had lunch & free time. I did my assignment from my photography class, took a bunch of planned photos. [I’ll add them at the bottom.] It was still raining but the rain kind of helped make better pics, because the rain drops added a great aspect to most of my pictures. After that we had another topic and then another workshop. This one was soccer. It was still raining but I decided to play anyway, and it turned out to be a blast J. From soccer I went back to photography again and everyone submitted three of their pictures which were all shown at the end of the day in a slideshow. After photography we had supper and everyone was in a group, their group colour and number on their name tags, and whatever group was ready first got to eat first. That was when I met 4 amazing guys. After that we kind of all hung out for the rest of the night. We ate supper together, and then after we played dodgeball, sat together through the last topic… it was great fun :D After about 8:00pm everyone started leaving and I went home with Emily and slept over there and the next morning I baked brownies and some other kind of square for them as a thank-you. And because I really had nothing else to do… :P Around 1:00 my mom picked me up again and we went home.

Thursday
Basically I went shopping and got a hair cut… doesn’t seem very exciting, eh? Well shopping was fun cuz I got jewelry and SHOES! J lol… And the haircut was exciting because I got to see my hairdresser, who is amazing :D. And I hadn’t seen her in like FOREVER. Anyway… :P
Saturday
It was my grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Lot’s of fun! At 8:45am I went to my hairdresser’s again to get an up-do J it was absolutely gorgeous! I was not in any way disappointed. Not that I expected to be… lol. I came back home after that and did some laundry and ironing until about 12:00. Then I went to the church where the open house and dinner were being held. We were supposed to have family pictures at 1:00 at a really neat old museum school but it was raining again so we had them done inside the church. Anyway. They still went well. After that from 3-5 there was an open house, and a TON of people came in. It was pretty crazy, a constant flow of people. We had supper around 6:00. It was delicious. We had a variety of buns and two salads, a spinach salad with nuts, dried cranberries, and some kind of poppy seed dressing and a ceasar salad. Both which were delicious. Then a butternut squash soup with a garnish of parsley and sour cream. After that came the main course which consisted of roast beef and/or chicken with cheese and ham inside [the name has slipped my mind] mashed potatoes, various vegetables, and more buns. For desert my cousin [who is a baker, specializing in cakes] made a replica of their original wedding cake. It was all delicious. After that everyone sat around and visited and had wine and some food from a side table of various delicacies. All in all it was fantastic, I got to see and talk to a lot of people I haven’t seen in ages, and my grandparents especially because they live six hours north of here, in a little town called Temagami. They own and operate a camp up there called Lowell Lake Lodge. It’s a great place J But since they live way up there we don’t get to see them as often as we would otherwise. Although we probably see them more then the rest of the family because we go up so much.

Anyway! J that was my week! J I hope you all had just as good of one.

Later!
